Busey Illinois Youth Run Information

Registration and Packet Pickup

Registration for the youth run is available online and by mail in English and in Spanish.

Participants and their parents can register and pick up youth run race packets and instructions on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday:

  • Thursday, April 23 during the Health & Fitness Expo at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Friday, April 24 during the Health & Fitness Expo at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 25, at Memorial Stadium (Great East Hall) from 9 a.m. to noon.

(Race packets for all other events can only be picked up on Thursday and Friday at the Health & Fitness Expo.)

Course

Roughly 1K (slightly longer than half a mile), with a finish in the stadium. The different heats of the Youth Run start on Kirby Avenue by Fourth Street, and then head west to First St. Go north on First Street to Irwin Drive. Turn right on Irwin Drive and then turn right into the stadium to the finish at the 50-yard-line.

Date and Time

Race starts at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25.

Entry Fee

The entry fee is $12 through Friday, April 24. On race day, April 25, the entry fee is $15.

Age Groups

Children will run in separate races or heats, according to age. There is also a sibling heat. Children older than 10 should participate in the 5K. Parents can run with their children. All entrants (and any accompanying parent) should be able to cover the distance (a little over half a mile) on their own two feet.

Goodies

Youth run entrants all get an awesome 100% cotton pre-shrunk T-shirt, a drawstring backpack, and a finisher’s medal.

To guarantee a shirt, you must register by April 16.

Charitable Partner

The CU Schools Foundation is a Charitable Partner of the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon. A portion of every Busey Illinois Youth Run entry will be donated to CU Schools Foundation.
